USF quarterback B.J. Daniels sprained his right shoulder in the third quarter against Miami, and was not expected to return.
Bobby Eveld came on in relief. A similar situation unfolded last season against the Hurricanes, when Daniels got hurt and Eveld rallied the Bulls to a 23-20 overtime victory.
Daniels was hurt on a scramble and immediately clutched his shoulder. Trainers examined him on the sideline, and he had ice and a sling on his shoulder.
