How about a little break from all this Pitt news? Here is a nice recruiting profile on Middletown (Ohio) athlete Zach Edwards, who is being recruited to play safety at Cincinnati.
Jared Shanker of ESPN Recruiting Nation writes that Edwards always wanted to play that position, and finally got his chance in his senior season. Here is what Edwards' coach had to say about the move from receiver to safety:
"He had that toughness aspect," Troy Everhart said. "We saw some of the blocks he made at wide receiver. Some guys at wide receiver are great physical kids but don't want to block."
Just as Everhart thought, Edwards turned out to be a natural, and programs are starting to look at Edwards at safety instead of receiver. In fact, Cincinnati is recruiting Edwards as a safety now after recruiting him at receiver for several months.
Edwards plans to take his official visit to Cincinnati this weekend. He also has offers from Miami (Ohio), Akron and Bowling Green.
Also included in this post: defensive back Sean Draper (Cleveland Glenville) will take an official visit to Louisville.
