Setting up the Saturday slate

Here is a quick look at the slate of games today in the Big East. For those who need a little refresher, we are doing our Saturday coverage a little bit different this season. Stay tuned to the Twitter feed on the right side of the screen for updates on all games. I will have condensed wrap-ups shortly after the games end.

Matt Fortuna told you what to watch in Week 2.

I gave you my Week 2 predictions.

Noon games

NC State at UConn, ESPN3.

Note: There is a tornado watch in Hartford, and winds are gusting, so the weather could be a factor in this game. The Northeast is under a severe weather alert.

Maryland at Temple, ESPNU.

Note: Temple running back Montel Harris is dressed, and participated in pre-game warm-ups so we'll see how he looks after tweaking his hamstring last week against Villanova.

3:30 p.m. games

Missouri State at No. 23 Louisville, ESPN3.

Note: Can the Cardinals get two 100-yard rushers for the second straight game? The last time they pulled off that double was in 2008. Charlie Strong will want to see improvement from his defense before a big test against North Carolina.

Howard at Rutgers, ESPN3.

Note: Any looking ahead for the Scarlet Knights with the Big East opener against USF looming on Thursday?

No. 2 USC at Syracuse, ABC.

Note: Syracuse receiver Alec Lemon has been cleared to play after sitting out last week against Northwestern with a lower body injury. Left tackle Justin Pugh (shoulder) is still out.

USF at Nevada, CBS Sports Network.

Note: Weather looks perfect in Reno, where USF is going to have to play at altitude and in a pretty hostile environment with Rutgers ahead.
