Setting up Saturday's games

Here is a quick look at the slate of games in the Big East today. We will have updates on Twitter all day, and game recaps when they end. Happy game day!

No. 13 Virginia Tech at Pitt, noon, ESPNU.

Note: Ray Graham had a great performance last week in a loss to Cincinnati, overshadowed because the Panthers played so poorly overall. He did have more than 100 yards rushing, so if Pitt has any chance, it rests on his shoulders. Follow on Twitter with hashtag #VTvsPITT

UConn at Maryland, 12:30 p.m., Big East Network.

Note: A lot has been made of the matchup between the Huskies and former coach Randy Edsall. On the flip side, UConn defensive coordinator Don Brown had the same position at Maryland from 2009-10. Current UConn assistant coaches Hank Hughes, Matt Cersosimo, Mike Foley, Darrell Perkins and Jon Wholley were all on Edsall’s staff at UConn.

North Carolina at No. 19 Louisville, 3:30 p.m., ABC/ESPN2.

Note: North Carolina running back Giovani Bernard reportedly did not travel with the team, as he recovers from a knee injury. Follow on Twitter with hashtag: #UNCvsUL

Stony Brook at Syracuse, 4 p.m., Big East Network.

Note: All-Big East tackle Justin Pugh will be out until the Big East opener against Pitt on Oct. 5.

Delaware State at Cincinnati, 7 p.m, ESPN3.

Note: Cincinnati has won 21 straight home nonconference games at Nippert Stadium, dating to a 30-24 win against Temple in three overtimes on Sept. 20, 2003.
