Greene named Bednarik Player of the Week

The honors keep rolling in for Rutgers linebacker Khaseem Greene.

On Tuesday, Greene was selected the Chuck Bednarik Award Player of the Week after he notched 14 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception in a 23-15 win over Syracuse. Later in the day, he was also tabbed the FWAA/Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week.

Greene won Big East Defensive Player of the Week honors and also was named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week.

“Khaseem has proven to be and continues to perform at an elite level,” coach Kyle Flood said. “He has bought into the team concept of our defense and the results have shown on the field.”

Greene is now eighth in school history with 314 career tackles. You can listen to an interview he did with the Walter Camp website.
