Bridgewater on Walter Camp watch list

Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was one of 15 players selected Wednesday as a player to watch for the Walter Camp Award, given annually to the best player in college football.

A list of five finalists will be announced Nov. 28, and the winner will be announced Dec. 6.

Bridgewater is one of four underclassmen on the list, joining Texas A&M freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel, USC receiver Marqise Lee and Ohio State sophomore quarterback Braxton Miller.

So far this season, Bridgewater has passed for 2,858 yards and 21 touchdowns to just five interceptions for the No. 19 Cardinals. He ranks No. 5 in the nation in passing efficiency and is the overwhelming favorite to win Big East Offensive Player of the Year honors.

For those who think this league gets overlooked, Bridgewater making this list is validation that folks have taken notice of his outstanding play this season.
