This month ESPN Insider's college football experts are looking at teams with the best odds of winning the BCS national title and examining what is working for and against them in their quests.
Ryan McGee recently looked at Louisville, whose athletic department has been the talk of the spring after a men's basketball national title, women's basketball national title game appearance and, of course, the football team's rout of Florida in the Sugar Bowl — and all the ensuing good vibes that have come with it.
Working in the Cardinals' favor this fall? Surprise, surprise: That would be Teddy Bridgewater, whose Heisman Trophy and NFL draft possibilities have dominated talk this spring (as has his aversion to the talk).
McGee also touts the guys surrounding Bridgewater, particularly all of the talent he will be throwing to this fall. And the schedule could not be any more conducive to a run at a perfect season.
Of course, that schedule may also be a deterrent, with McGee saying that one SEC assistant coach laughed uncontrollably when asked if Louisville had the easiest run to a BCS bowl.
McGee also points to both the offensive and defensive lines as possible deterrents, with coach Charlie Strong saying that the talent is there but still needs to fully develop.
