Receiver Mike Williams is officially back at classes at Syracuse and ready to play in 2009 after missing last year, Donnie Webb writes in the Syracuse Post-Standard.

"Oh man, it almost brought tears to my eyes," Williams told Webb. "I didn't think it was going to happen. They tell me that people suspended from school rarely come back. They told me it was slim and that a lot of people never come back. It was crazy being readmitted."

The Orange also got their second high school commitment under Doug Marrone, a New Jersey offensive lineman whi had previously verballed to South Florida.

"We want to continue running multiple offenses, but we want to be a team that throws the ball better so we're looking for someone who can aid us there," Randy Edsall said. "And, yeah, preferably he would be the quarterback coach, too."

  • South Florida's new series with Florida State gives the Bulls another chance at taking the "next step" and beating one of the state's Big Three, Brett McMurphy writes in the Tampa Tribune.
