Injury reports for Michigan, Indiana

Two more Big Ten teams have issued their official injury reports for Saturday's games.

MICHIGAN (vs. Bowling Green)

  • OL John Ferrara, hand

  • LB Brandon Herron, ankle

  • LB/S Carvin Johnson, knee

  • LB Mike Jones, leg

  • S Jared Van Slyke, clavicle

  • S Mike Williams, head

  • CB Troy Woolfolk, ankle

Thoughts: It's still astounding how many defensive players remain out for the Wolverines, who certainly could use a boost on that side of the ball. Robinson is making progress, which is a good sign. Coach Rich Rodriguez had been hopeful that Herron would return this week, and Johnson's presence is missed at a very critical position.

INDIANA (vs. Akron)

  • S Chris Adkins, ankle

  • CB Matt Ernest, shin

  • K Nick Freeland, hip

  • WR Dre Muhammad, ankle

  • LB Tyler Replogle, concussion

  • DE Kevin Bush, neck

  • DE Darius Johnson

Thoughts: Still quite a few defenders are banged up, so it'll be interesting to see how the unit performs against Akron. Replogle would be a major loss if he can't play, and both Ernest and Johnson also are projected starters. Indiana ranks last in the Big Ten in rushing defense (185.5 ypg), and it's important for the defense to tighten things up before Denard Robinson and Michigan visit on Oct. 2.
