Best wishes to Iowa defensive coordinator Norm Parker, who is recovering after having his right foot amputated two weeks ago as a result of his diabetes.
Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz on Wednesday confirmed Parker's amputation and said the 68-year-old is doing well and should return to coaching at some point this season. Parker has missed the team's last four games after being hospitalized Sept. 10.
This is sad news, but Parker is an absolute warrior and a treasure to the coaching profession.
He'll be back, and whether he coaches in the press box or on the field, Iowa will be better off for it.
