ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- After last week's win against Wisconsin, Michigan State running back Edwin Baker talked to me about the importance of "getting your money."
He uses the phrase as motivation for everything he does -- practices, games, offseason training -- as he works toward his goal of reaching the NFL.
Well, Baker just took it to the bank.
His electrifying 61-yard touchdown run gave Michigan State its first lead at 7-3 and humbles a Michigan defense that had been playing well to that point. The Wolverines are still far too prone to big plays -- fundamentals are lacking -- and need Denard Robinson to answer now.
Of all the Michigan State backs, Baker is the best home-run threat. He enters each game with the goal of one huge run.
Well, he just got it.
