Kellen Lewis will finish his college career a little closer to home. The former All-Big Ten quarterback at Indiana is transferring to Valdosta State.
Lewis told ESPN's Joe Schad that he hopes to return to the quarterback spot for the Division II Blazers after being shifted to wide receiver with the Hoosiers during spring practice. Indiana head coach Bill Lynch dismissed Lewis in late April for repeated violations of team rules.
"He told me, 'I just can't give you another chance,'" Lewis said. "And I understand because I violated our contract. It was a bad day then but I will stay in touch with those coaches."
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Lewis needs 10 credits to finish his degree at Valdosta State, located in Valdosta, Ga.
