Former Penn State defensive tackle Phil Taylor intends to transfer to Baylor, multiple media outlets in Texas are reporting.

Nittany Lions coach Joe Paterno dismissed Taylor and fellow defensive tackle Chris Baker on July 30. Taylor had been suspended for his role in an off-field fight last October and in May was sentenced to one year's probation and 100 hours of community service.

Taylor attended Baylor's practice Thursday and plans to enroll for the fall semester. He'll sit out the season and have two years of eligibility left. He appeared in 12 games last fall, recording 20 tackles, three sacks and two fumble recoveries.
