The Big Ten hasn't looked like a first-class conference in the first half of the season, and we won't get a true gauge on the league until the bowls roll around.
But Week 6 brought good things for the top of the conference, as the ranked teams handled their business and idle Michigan State not surprisingly entered the polls. According to the latest ESPN Stats & Info Conference Power Rankings, the Big Ten made up some ground on both the SEC and Big 12.
The Big Ten has a rating of 79.2, which puts the league solidly in third place -- a good distance behind the second place SEC (92.4) and a good distance ahead of the fourth-place Pac-12 (66.5). The Big Ten made up some ground in Week 6 and has improved its position in the computer rankings (No. 3).
The Big Ten and Big 12 are tied for the most undefeated teams with three apiece.
