More notes on Big Ten's Top 25 games

Some more notes on Big Ten games featuring Top 25 teams from the folks at ESPN Stats & Information.

  • Indiana has lost three straight road games against Michigan State by a combined 84 points. Michigan State has won 13 consecutive home games, the second-longest home winning streak in school history. The longest home win streak is 19 games from 1950-53.

  • Michigan State is the highest-ranked Big Ten team in the BCS Standings this week at No. 15. That's the worst ranking for the highest Big Ten team in the standings since Dec. 3, 2000, when Michigan was 16th. In fact, there have been 85 releases of the BCS Standings since then and the Big Ten has had a team in the top 10 in all but six of them.

  • Michigan QB Denard Robinson averaged more than 168 yards rushing per game in nonconference play. However, his rushing numbers have declined in conference play. He has run for 100 yards just once in six Big Ten games and is averaging fewer than 60 rushing yards per conference game.

  • Wisconsin's offense also is on pace to shatter the team scoring record. The Badgers are currently averaging 46.5 points per game, five points per game better than the record which was set last season. Only one Big Ten school has averaged more than 45 points in a season since 1916 (Penn State in 1994 averaged 47 points per game).

  • Saturday will mark the first road game that Penn State has played without Joe Paterno as head coach since December 4, 1965, against Maryland.

  • Under Bo Pelini, Nebraska has been a team that finishes strong. The Cornhuskers are 11-3 in November since 2008.
