Penn State completes class of 19 signees

No team faced a more daunting recruiting challenge than Penn State. The Nittany Lions faced a flurry of decommitments, and new head coach Bill O'Brien is still busy finishing his work with the New England Patriots.

But the Nittany Lions still managed to sign 19 players in this class, and if they perform well on the field, that's all that matters. Here is the complete list of 2012 Penn State signees:

Steven Bench, QB

Da'Quan Davis, DB

Derek Dowrey, DL

Brian Gaia, DL

Malik Golden, WR

Jesse James, TE

Austin Johnson, DL

Jake Kiley, DB

Wendy Laurent, OL

Eugene Lewis, WR

Jordan Lucas, DB

Akeel Lynch, RB

Jamil Pollard, DL

Evan Schwan, DL

Anthony Stanko, OL

Jonathan Warner, WR

Nyeem Wartman, LB

Brent Wilkerson, TE

Trevor Williams, WR

That's 10 offensive and nine defensive players in this class. This group likely won't be rated highly by the experts, but O'Brien said he "couldn't care less" about the rankings. He's going to be judged on a whole lot more than this abbreviated recruiting effort.
