Iowa lands heralded QB recruit Derby

Posted by ESPN.com's Adam Rittenberg

A great week for Iowa continued with today's commitment of quarterback A.J. Derby from Iowa City High School for the 2010 class. Derby, ranked as the nation's 20th best athlete by ESPN's Scouts Inc., chose the hometown Hawkeyes over both Oklahoma and Florida. He's the third player to commit to Iowa this week, joining running back De'Andre Johnson and cornerback B.J. Lowery.

Though he might not end up playing quarterback for Iowa, Derby should be an excellent asset to the Hawkeyes offense.

Check out what Derby had to say about his decision.
