Some fun facts about this week's games, courtesy of ESPN's Stats & Information group and other sources.
Michigan State has won five consecutive games at Illinois' Memorial Stadium. Illinois' last home win in the series came in 1992.
Miami (Ohio) has won six of eight all-time meetings against Northwestern, including a huge upset in Evanston in 1995. The Wildcats have only one home victory against Miami, in 1963.
This is the first time that an unranked Michigan team will face a ranked Iowa team since 1984 when Iowa was ranked No. 18. This is the third time under Kirk Ferentz that Iowa is ranked heading into its game against Michigan. The Hawkeyes won both of the previous meetings in 2002 and 2003.
While Ohio State has historically dominated this matchup, the Badgers have made it competitive of late. Ohio State has won two straight against Wisconsin, but hasn’t won three straight since 1994-96. Since taking over for Barry Alvarez in 2006, Bret Bielema has defeated every Big Ten team except Ohio State. Bielema is 0-2 against the Buckeyes.
Despite last season’s victory at Purdue, Minnesota has won just twice in its last 11 attempts against the Boilermakers. The only other Minnesota win during that stretch was a 42-35, double-overtime victory at the Metrodome back in 2005.
Saturday marks Indiana's first meeting against Virginia. Indiana is 5-10 all-time against the ACC. The Hoosiers last meeting against an ACC foe came on Sept. 6, 2001, at North Carolina State (35-14 loss).
Penn State has never played Eastern Illinois. The Panthers are the 83rd different foe Joe Paterno has faced as head coach.
