Huskers' Chase Rome returns to team

It only took a week for Nebraska defensive tackle Chase Rome to work out his issues, and the sophomore has returned to the team.

Huskers head coach Bo Pelini said Thursday that Rome has been practicing with the team all week and will be available for Saturday's game against Idaho State. Rome left the team following a Sept. 8 loss to UCLA, and Pelini said last week that the lineman's "personal goals and personal perception of where he should be on this football team doesn't match the team goals."

Apparently Rome has fallen back in line.

"He got through some issues and he's ready to come back," Pelini said Thursday.

Nebraska will benefit from Rome's return to a defensive tackle rotation that includes only two experienced players in Baker Steinkuhler and Thad Randle. Rome, who stepped in for the injured Jared Crick last season, had four tackles, including one for loss, in the first two games.
