The Big Ten postseason player rankings continue with ...
Tyler Sash, S, Iowa, So., 6-1, 210
Preseason rank: Unranked
Why he's here: Sash is the first sophomore on the rundown, and he'll be much higher in the preseason 2010 player rankings. Simply put, the guy has been a huge playmaker ever since he set foot on the field for Iowa. After tying for the Big Ten interceptions lead with five in 2008, Sash held the top spot alone with six picks this fall, including an 86-yard touchdown return that served as one of the league's top plays this fall.
His ball-hawking skills are well known, but Sash became a complete safety this fall. He ranked 23rd in the league in tackles with 86 and recorded six pass breakups. Sash is a huge reason why Iowa has become one of the Big Ten's most opportunistic defenses, and the consensus first-team All-Big Ten selection will anchor the secondary in 2010 as the Hawkeyes make a run at a conference championship. If Sash continues to produce at this pace, he'll be on the NFL radar very soon.
