Seguin denies Swiss story about messy apartment

WILMINGTON, Mass. – Boston Bruins forward Tyler Seguin wanted to set the record straight Thursday and explain that he’s not a slob.

After the 20-year-old forward left Switzerland, where he was playing during the recent lockout, a Swiss tabloid ran a story about the messy conditions in Seguin’s rented apartment.

According to the story, the cleaning company described the apartment as littered with garbage. After participating in the Bruins’ informal skate Thursday morning at Ristuccia Arena, Seguin said the story is simply not true.

“I was blown away with everything,” he said. “I thought it was very unprofessional but I don’t want to talk about it too much. Everything was obviously untrue. I don’t know if it’s because I was one of the guys on the team to ask for a cleaning service. It’s something I’ve always had and I didn’t see the big deal in it from traveling and such, but I’m very disappointed in that and it was very unprofessional.”

The Swiss story also said it was the first time Seguin had lived on his own, which is also not true since he has his own apartment in Boston.
