WILMINGTON, Mass. -- Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien has more important things to worry about than which player will serve as the team’s second assistant captain before Saturday’s season-opener against the New York Rangers.
Of course, Zdeno Chara is the team captain and Patrice Bergeron is one assistant captain. Last season, Andrew Ference and Chris Kelly shared the second ‘A’ between road and homes games. Julien believes he’ll have a similar system this season.
“Probably,” he said. “That’s on my list of to-dos that is really low, so maybe ask me Saturday morning, or Friday after practice because that’s when those things will be more of a priority. We’ve got a lot of the same guys, and it could be, unless in the next few days we talk and decide to do something else. I don’t think there’s a big reason to think of lots of changes that way.”
