Julien: 'Let's go at it'

BOSTON -- It’s only Game 1 of the lockout-shortened, 48-game schedule, but the TD Garden felt more like a playoff atmosphere Saturday morning as the Boston Bruins get set to the host the New York Rangers at 7 p.m.

Bruins coach Claude Julien is pumped for the opportunity to open against another top team in the Eastern Conference. The Rangers had more points than any team in the Eastern Conference last season.

“I really do,” he said. “I’d rather play one of the best teams in the conference. And right now let’s go at it. We’re both at the same stage where we’ve had six days of training camp -- let’s go at it. We go at it again on Wednesday, so there’s no issue from my end, and as I’ve always said, you control what you can control.”

The Bruins conducted their normal game-day skate with no changes to the line combinations that Julien has been working with during training camp. Tuukka Rask will start for the Bruins.

“We had a good morning skate and the team’s ready to go,” Rask said.
