Bruins to open season at home vs. Flyers

The NHL announced its schedule for the 2014-15 season, and the Bruins will open against the Philadelphia Flyers at TD Garden on Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m.

The Bruins will welcome the Winnipeg Jets for their traditional game on the day after Thanksgiving and will host a New Year’s Eve matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs. They have two four-game homestands, one in November and one from Feb. 28 through March 8.

The Bruins and Canadiens will renew their rivalry four times, with games in Montreal on Oct. 16 and Nov. 13, and at TD Garden Nov. 22 and Feb. 8.
