McGrattan waived, heads to Providence

The Bruins have waived forward Brian McGrattan with the purpose of assigning him to Providence (AHL).

McGrattan, who attended Bruins training camp on a tryout and was signed to a one-year contract as a free agent on Oct. 11, has been a healthy scratch in nine games.

McGrattan, 29, had a scoreless three-game conditioning stint in Providence in late October.

He is a veteran of 182 NHL games splitting his time between the Calgary Flames, Phoenix Coyotes and Ottawa Senators. He has totaled three goals, 11 assists and 395 penalty minutes.
