WILMINGTON, Mass. -- Bruins defensemen Andrew Ference and Steven Kampfer practiced with the team again Monday, then traveled with the team to Columbus in advance of Boston's meeting with the Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.
Coach Claude Julien told the media after practice that he expects at least one of the two to play Tuesday but wasn’t sure which one.
“We feel that one of them will be ready and hopefully two,” Julien said.
Kampfer said he felt as if he is ready to go, but needed one final approval from a doctor.
“As far as I know, I”m good to go,” Kampfer told the media. “Whether I'll be in the lineup is Claude’s decision. I feel ready to go.”
Ference said he is status quo and didn’t sound confident that he'd be in the lineup.
“[I feel] a little better every day. It’s going as expected, I guess,” Ference said. “There hasn’t been too much physical contact [in practices] so we’ll see.”
Ference has been out with a lower body injury since Feb. 26 and Kampfer has been out with a concussion since March 3.
