Horton misses practice with skate issue

PHILADELPHIA -- Boston Bruins forward Nathan Horton did not practice with the rest of the team Sunday morning at Wells Fargo Center due to a skate malfunction.

“I was getting dressed and just about to go on and my skates were all messed up,” Horton said. “Coach just told me to stay off because my skates wouldn’t be done in time and he said [practice] was going to be really quick.”

Horton said he still worked out.

“It wasn’t supposed to be a maintenance day,” Bruins coach Claude Julien said. “His rivets popped just before going out there. He did an off-ice workout. It’s not a big deal. He’ll skate tomorrow morning.”
