A second-period letdown

BOSTON -- The Bruins had a huge letdown in the second period as the Penguins completely dominated.

Trailing 1-0, the Bruins seemed lifeless until captain Zdeno Chara dropped the gloves with the Penguins’ Michael Rupp at 11:43 of the period. The scrum didn’t really serve to jump-start the Bruins as Pittsburgh took a 2-0 lead at 19:45 of the period.

The Penguins outshot Boston in the period 15-5.
