Source: Canucks tried to sell parade rights

BOSTON -- The Vancouver Canucks attempted to sell the broadcast rights for their potential Stanley Cup celebration parade following their Game 5 win Friday night over the Boston Bruins, but the NHL would not allow them to do so, according to a league source.

Vancouver leads the series 3-2 with Game 6 on Monday night at TD Garden.

The NHL, Bruins and Canucks held meetings prior to the start of the series to plan for parades in each city, which is the norm because of the amount of planning needed to prepare for such celebrations.
