As expected, Chara out vs. Sens

Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien declared captain Zdeno Chara out versus the Ottawa Senators shortly before game time Wednesday night.

The 6-foot-9 defenseman skated with the Bruins Wednesday morning but hasn’t fully recovered from a lower-body injury suffered in a collision with Blue Jackets forward Antoine Vermette during the Bruins' 5-3 victory on Saturday in Columbus. He missed Monday's practice and Tuesday's win over the Kings in Boston.

"He's obviously doing a lot better, but certainly not to the point where we want him in, but very optimistic that he'll be back pretty soon," Julien told reporters Wednesday night.
