Saunders flips out, draws quick ejection

BOSTON -- Washington Wizards coach Flip Saunders earned a pair of technical fouls and was ejected from Monday's game against the Boston Celtics after just 104 seconds of play.

Upset that no foul was called after Celtics center Greg Stiemsma blocked a Rashard Lewis jumper, with Stiemsma toppling on top of Lewis on the floor in front of the Wizards bench in the aftermath, Saunders earned a technical for jawing at referee Eli Roe as play moved back up the court. Saunders got another soon after -- earning the disqualification -- as he chased Roe to further voice his complaints.

An irate Saunders stormed onto the court seeking explanation for his ejection before being restrained by his players. He conferenced with another official near the Wizards bench before being escorted out.

“It happened so fast, I don’t know if it was a 1:40 or 1:30 into the game," said assistant coach Randy Wittman, who took over Saunders. "I don’t think it really gave us a chance to think too much about it, it happened so fast.”
