Brandon Bass rolls left ankle

BOSTON -- Just minutes into Tuesday's bout with the Houston Rockets, Celtics forward Brandon Bass rolled his left ankle and departed to the locker room to have it re-taped by team trainer Ed Lacerte.

A Celtics spokesman said Bass, who's starting in place of the injured Jermaine O'Neal (left wrist), is expected to return.

UPDATE: Bass returned to the bench with 9:00 left in the second quarter. He checked back into the game right after a timeout with 8:55 left in the second quarter.
