Pull the shades: Rondo nixes glasses

LOS ANGELES -- In Los Angeles, where on-court fashion is as popular as that in the crowds at the moment with Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul each wearing clear facemasks because of nose injuries, Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo nearly topped them both after warming up with dark-tinted glasses before Sunday's game (courtesy of Twitter.com/NBA):

Rondo, who recently endured a black eye courtesy of the Knicks' Iman Shumpert, suffered a bruised right eye after getting poked by Portland's Marcus Camby in Friday's win. Rondo ultimately ditched the shades (despite the noticeable pink dot on his eye) and chipped in 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting with 10 assists over 40 minutes in Sunday's loss. After the game, he sported some stylish rose-tinged sunglasses that helped mask the injury.
