MIAMI -- Even before Wednesday's grueling Game 2 spilled into overtime, the Boston Celtics made the decision to stay in Miami overnight instead of making the usual late-night flight back.
With the late playoff start time and a three-hour flight, the Celtics would have been looking at arriving in the early hours of Thursday morning. Instead, the team elected to sleep in and catch a late-morning flight out of Miami.
Considering the likes of Rajon Rondo played the entire 53 minutes, a little extra shuteye couldn't hurt moving forward.
The Celtics have typically stayed off the court on offdays. It's likely that much of Thursday will be devoted to rest and recovery and the team can watch more film and walk through sets Friday morning before Game 3.
