Boston's training staff helps Avery Bradley off the court last season.Celtics director of player personnel Austin Ainge told reporters in Orlando on Sunday that Celtics guard Avery Bradley will undergo right shoulder surgery Tuesday in Boston and could miss the start of the season as he rehabs.

Surgery to repair troubles in his often-dislocated left shoulder occurred in May, ending Bradley's season during Boston's playoff run. The team had to wait until he had sufficiently healed before going in for this anticipated right shoulder procedure. But because of the wait, Bradley might not be ready for the start of the season.

A source close to Bradley said Saturday that the third-year guard could still be ready for the start of camp, but the pessimism of the Celtics' front office suggests it's more likely he'll miss some time to start the year.

Asked about Bradley's return timeline, Celtics coach Doc Rivers told the Boston Herald: “It could be early in the season, it could be mid-December. We’re just not sure.”

With Ray Allen taking his talents to South Beach, the Celtics are left thin at shooting guard as they scramble to add depth to their roster (all without much to offer beyond the biannual exception as their biggest remaining chip).
