Rondo edged for Player of Week honor

Fresh off tying John Stockton's 37-game double-digit assist streak on Sunday in Orlando, Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo was nominated for Player of the Week, but was edged in the Eastern Conference by Atlanta's Al Horford.

Horford spearheaded the Hawks as part of a 4-0 week, averaging 16.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Tim Duncan, aided by a 20-point, 15-rebound effort against Boston last week, took home the Western Conference honor.

Rondo is the first Celtics player to be nominated for the Player of the Week honor this season.
