Boston Celtics forward Jeff Green was nominated for the league's Eastern Conference Player of the Week, but Miami's LeBron James took home the honor.
Green averaged 19.3 points, 5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2 blocks and a steal over 34 minutes in four appearances last week. That included a season-high 31-point outburst in Boston's lone win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday. Green shot 56 percent overall over the last four games, but was a minus-16 in total plus/minus as the Celtics went 1-3.
Green is just the fifth Celtics player to be nominated for the Player of the Week honor this season. Rajon Rondo earned a pair of nominations, while Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were nominated in the same week. Boston has not had a player win the award this season.
