Boston Celtics captain Paul Pierce was nominated for Eastern Conference Player of the Week, but lost out to Miami's Dwyane Wade.
It was the second nomination of the season for Pierce (also nominated in early February, where he lost out to Miami's LeBron James). For the Celtics, it's the sixth Player of the Week nomination with Pierce and Rondo leading the team with two apiece.
Pierce averaged 19.5 points on 49.1 percent shooting to go along with 7.5 rebounds and 6 assists per game over four contests as Boston went 3-1 overall. With Miami on a season-best 18-game winning streak, Wade averaged 25.3 points on 60.6 percent shooting to go along with 5 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 3.5 steals in four games this week.
