The Boston Celtics formally announced (1) the recall of Rajon Rondo from his brief D-League workout and (2) the latest three-team trade that shipped out MarShon Brooks and Jordan Crawford on Wednesday afternoon.
Rondo's D-League assignment was procedural, necessary to allow him to officially work out with the Red Claws on Wednesday afternoon. He is still seemingly on pace to make his 2013-14 season debut on Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Boston acquired Miami center Joel Anthony, a conditional first-round pick originally belonging to the Philadelphia 76ers, Miami's 2016 second-round pick, and cash considerations as part of a three-team swap. The Warriors sent Toney Douglas to Miami to complete the trade.
Miami acquired the lottery-protected first-round pick from Philadelphia in a trade for Arnett Moultrie. The pick remains with Philadelphia if it's a lottery selection in 2014 and 2015, and otherwise would become a pair of second-round picks (in 2015 and 2016). Essentially, the pick comes to Boston if PHiladelphia makes the playoffs this year or next, otherwise Boston gets two second-round picks (the first of which, at least, would be early in the 2015 second round).
