The Boston Celtics announced Tuesday that they have inked swingman Chris Johnson to a second 10-day contract.
The 6-foot-6 Johnson has averaged 10 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals over 26.6 minutes per game in four appearances. He only cemented his spot by scoring 12 points off the bench against Brooklyn on Sunday. Johnson's contract expired after the game, but he traveled to New York with the Celtics in advance of Tuesday's game against the Knicks, indicating he was likely to sign another 10-day pact.
Johnson originally signed with Boston on Jan. 17 after appearing in 20 games for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the D-League. The Celtics will have to decide next month if they want to sign Johnson for the rest of the season.
