Vanilla Ice will perform Friday in Minnesota.Dedicated readers know we're a huge fan of Red Panda Acrobat (and, well, halftime acts in general). And while it's hard to upstage a unicyclist flipping bowls on her head, the Minnesota Timberwolves are giving it their best shot with Friday's scheduled halftime performance. From the team:
The Minnesota Timberwolves announced that multi-platinum recording artist Vanilla Ice will put on a special halftime performance during Friday's game vs. Boston. Vanilla Ice's album "To The Extreme," released in August of 1990, became the fastest selling hip hop album of all time, peaking at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album, featuring the smash hit "Ice Ice Baby," spent 16 weeks on the charts, and sold 11 million copies. Vanilla Ice, a two-time American Music Award winner, released his eighth studio album in 2011 and currently stars in "The Vanilla Ice Project" which airs on the DIY Network.
We joked a bit about it on ESPN Boston Radio with Adam Jones on Thursday, but it's a unique halftime choice. What do you think: Would you rather see Vanilla Ice or Quick Change? What's your favorite halftime act? Sound off in the comments.
