It’ll be a top-heavy home slate for Boston College in 2012, with two BCS bowl participants (Clemson and Virginia Tech) and longtime rival Notre Dame coming to Chestnut Hill.
On Monday, the ACC released the schedule for the upcoming football season.
The Eagles, coming off a 4-8 season in 2011, will begin the new campaign on Sept. 1 at home against Miami. They then host Maine on Sept. 8, play at Northwestern on Sept. 15, have a bye, then host Clemson on Sept. 29 before beginning a three-game road swing at Army on Oct. 6, Florida State on Oct. 13 and Georgia Tech on Oct. 20.
BC will be back at Alumni Stadium to host Maryland on Oct 27, hits the road against at Wake Forest on Nov. 3 and then hosts back-to-back games versus Notre Dame on Nov. 10 and Virginia Tech on Nov. 17.
The Eagles finish the regular season with a road date at NC State on Nov. 24.
The 2012 Dr. Pepper ACC championship game will be Dec. 1 in Charlotte, N.C.
Overall, BC will play eight teams in 2012 that made bowl games in 2011. Three BC opponents finished 2011 in the Top 25 (Virginia Tech, No. 17; Clemson, No. 22; and Florida State, No. 23).
