Final MIAA Football Top 25 Poll of 2011

We've updated the statewide MIAA Top 25 poll for the final time in 2011, and there are no surprises at the top of the list.

With Super Bowl wins over Lincoln-Sudbury and Tewksbury, respectively, Everett and Duxbury went a respective No. 1 and No. 2 in the poll from wire to wire. BC High finishes where it started in the poll (No. 3) following a Division 1 Super Bowl win over Needham, while Concord-Carlisle (4) returns to the top five and Dennis-Yarmouth finishes with its highest spot ever (5).

Rounding out the top 10 are Nashoba (6), Chelmsford (7), Auburn (8), Putnam (9) and Leominster (10), the latter its highest spot ever in the poll. Making their debuts in the poll in the final week are Bourne (19) and Cardinal Spellman (23), while Bay State Conference foes Needham and Weymouth slip back into the polls at Nos. 13 and 24, respectively.

Also of note, Everett -- which hasn't lost a game since the 2009 Division 1 Super Bowl -- has remained in the top spot of ESPN Boston's MIAA Top 25 poll since Week 6 of the 2010 season.

As always, let us know how we're doing in the comments section below, or by emailing editors Brendan Hall (bhall@espnboston.com) and/or Scott Barboza (sbarboza@espnboston.com).

And on another note, thanks for checking us out for the 2011 season.
