A Boston Herald report this morning states that the contract of Medfield High boys' lacrosse head coach Bob Aronson has not been renewed by the school.
The story by Bruce Lerch confirms rumors which have persisted during the winter months surrounding the parting of ways between the sides. According to the report, Aronson was told his contract would not be renewed after the school was informed by the MIAA of a potential violation of MIAA rule 40, which governs out-of-season contact between coaches and players.
A group comprised of former players and parents plans to protest Aronson's dismissal at the Medfield School Committee meeting on Monday.
Aronson has been the head coach at Medfield since the program's inception in 2000 and won five state championships, making six appearances.
The Warriors have a 222-47 record during Aronson's tenure while producing 13 All-Americans. The Warriors won their second straight MIAA Division 2 state championship last season.
