Lubick stepping down at St. Mark's

St. Mark's School officially announced this morning that long-time head basketball coach David Lubick is stepping down after 17 years at the helm.

Under Lubick, the Lions have been one of the most dominant prep school programs in New England the last decade, winning their class of the NEPSAC five times. This past season, behind high-major college stars Kaleb Tarczewski (Arizona) and Nik Stauskas (Michigan), the Lions beat Tilton (N.H.) and its star-studded cast of talent for the NEPSAC Class AA title. The Lions have produced a number of Division 1 college players as of late, among them Tommy Hubbard (East Tennessee State), Erik Murphy (Florida), Eric Green (Holy Cross), Alex Murphy (Duke), Melsahn Basabe (Iowa) and Lubick's own son Nate (Georgetown).

Lubick went 301-94 in his tenure as head coach, which began in 1996. He will remain at the school in his current role as Associate Director of Admission and Director of Financial Aid.
