Former Xaverian hockey standout Jason Salvaggio has given a verbal commitment to the University of New Hampshire. The news of Salvaggio's decision was passed along via the New England Nordiques club team's Twitter account today.
Salvaggio, a Hanson native, previously committed to UConn in October, but recently reopened his recruitment.
The 5-foot-11, 187-pound left-shot forward skated with the Selects Advantage AAA team last year and was ranked 97th among North American skaters on the NHL Central Scouting's final rankings report ahead of the 2013 Draft.
The Over the Boards hockey blog reported that Salvaggio visited a host of Hockey East schools after de-committing, including UMass, Merrimack, Providence and Vermont, before choosing UNH.
