CM's Coughlin commits to UMass-Amherst

Former Catholic Memorial hockey standout Liam Coughlin has committed to UMass-Amherst for the 2014-15 season, he tells ESPN Boston this evening.

The South Boston native and ESPN Boston All-State First-Team center in 2013 is currently playing with the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League.

With the Knights in 2012-13, the 6-foot-3, 201-pound left-handed shot registered 28-20-48 totals while helping to lead CM to a Super 8 crossover round game. Coughlin, a 1994 birthdate, has two goals and two assists through 10 games with the Vipers this season.
