The next poll update will be on Monday, May 12.
A few notes and observations about this week's poll:
Trojans still on top: To no surprise, Bridgewater-Raynham remains the No. 1 team in the land, a spot it has held since the end of last season when they won the Division 1 state championship. With the MIAA sending out its initial letters of consideration for the Super 8 tournament last week, many have the Trojans pegged as the top seed for the tournament.
Elsewhere up top, St. John's Prep moves up two spots, leapfrogging Newton North, after a fantastic week that ended with a walk-off victory over rival St. John's of Shrewsbury. North gets kicked down one spot to No. 3, while SJS comes in at No. 4 and Braintree is at No. 5, its first appearance in the top five in three weeks.
Out of the tank, into the poll: Following its impressive upset victory over Peabody last week, Gloucester makes a big splash in the latest poll, debuting at No. 12. The Fishermen, off to a surprisingly hot start at 11-1, were one of seven teams from the Division 2 ranks to receive a letter of consideration for Super 8.
Also making its season debut this week is No. 19 Acton-Boxborough, which upset Dual County League archrival Lincoln-Sudbury late last week.
