W&M's Anderson gets release from DePaul

DePaul University announced today that Wilbraham & Monson senior big man Braeden Anderson has received a release from the National Letter of Intent he signed with the Blue Demons during the early signing period last November.

Anderson, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, initially committed to DePaul during the first week of November and signing his NLI a few weeks later. Yesterday, W&M head coach Chris Sparks told ESPN's Adam Finkelstein, "I think it just came down to the fact that Braeden wanted to be closer to his family in Alberta. Secondly, they've added a couple more kids since Braeden made his decision and he felt like this might not be the best opportunity anymore."

Sparks also told Finkelstein at the time that he had already heard from Cal and Virginia, along with a host of mid-majors, and that "there have been a lot of calls."
