ESPN's Roger Brown is reporting on his recruiting blog today that Bishop Guertin (N.H.) senior running back Mike Kelly has verbally committed to the University of New Hampshire for the fall of 2011.
Kelly, widely considered the state's best offensive player headed into the 2010 season, suffered a season-ending foot injury in week two. Many of the CAA and Patriot League schools backed off when he tore ligaments and needed screws inserted to stabilize a bone in the foot, but the hometown Wildcats remained active in recruiting him. Kelly took a visit to the Durham, N.H. campus two weekends ago, Brown reports, and came back satisfied.
"UNH was really supportive the whole time," Kelly told Brown. "They stuck with me through the whole process."
